Hi,
I am Ed and have been in and out of the RC Modeling Hobby for over 40 years. Starting with control line in my early teens, RC Planes in my twenties and RC Boats for over 20 years. I started back into RC Planes in 2007, re-earning my wings and marveling at the advancements in RC Technology. I am retired Air Force so I love flying and I love being around planes.
I joined the Alabaster RC Association in Alabaster, Alabama and could not have asked for a better club or bunch of friends. To make a long story short I started with one plane and now have ten. I'm addicted.
We have stands at the field and tables, but at times it is crowded and getting along in my years it gets harder and harder to work off the ground, much less losing screws, pins, bolts, etc.. in the grass. So I decided to make something to solve that problem. I looked around, saw a few designs and settled on one and made inprovements and aminities that would better suit me. So the Ed's Field Stand was born.
I did not plan on making but one, however after club members saw my stand I got the usual question, "Can you make me one?" How can you refuse! So out of that I became the Stand Man. I have a love for woodworking and the tools, so why not. I do it as a hobby, not a job. Each and everyone is different as they are all handmade one at a time, no mass production. I have a light stain and a dark stain, your preference.
I also wanted to make them affordable for everyone. There are similar stands being listed in RC Flyer Magazine for over $140.00. I wanted something of good quality for a reasonable price. I first offered them to Club Members at $65.00. However with the cost of materials and hardware I went to $75.00. This is where I would rather stay unless costs overrule me.
You may contact me with any questions. I would rather not ship unless absolutely necessary as they take a large box and shipping is expensive. Meet and greet would be the best choice, but call me for any question on shipping or delivery.
